Getting started with the WD SmartWare software

The WD SmartWare™ Welcome screen provides four installation options.

To continue, click either:

• Install WD SmartWare to install the the full version of the WD SmartWare software that provides options for running your first backup and changing the default drive settings.
• Install Drive Settings to install the drive management version of the WD SmartWare software that only provides options for changing the default drive settings.
• Do Not Install to exit the Welcome screen without installing either version of the WD SmartWare software.
• Retrieve a Backup to either install the full version of the WD SmartWare or determine that it is already installed. This option is for retrieving files from a backup that you already ran on another computer.
