Completing the backup
The WD SmartWare™ software reports the completion of a backup with one of three messages on the initial Backup screen:
For a category backup, all of the files categories in the content gauge for your computer's internal hard drive and your My Book or My Passport drive are shown in the same shade of blue.
For a category backup, the representations of the files that were not backed up remain yellow/amber in the content gauge for your computer's internal hard drive.
Click the View files link to display a list of the files and reasons that they were not backed up.
IMPORTANT! The appearance of a Caution message indicating that your My Book or My Passport drive is full means that there is not enough free space on the drive to complete the backup operation. The best solution would be to relegate the drive to long-term archive storage and:
